These homes are built to the same codes and specifications as a site built home, they just happen to be built in a factory under ideal conditions. There are several advantages to modular construction, here are just a few:

Materials are never exposed to the elements. This is important because wet wood shrinks, twists and cracks when it dries.

Time of construction is reduced. This means you get in your new home quicker, and don't pay as much interest while waiting for construction.

Modular homes are considerably less expensive because the manufacturer buys materials in bulk at great discounts, and all labor is performed efficiently under ideal conditions in the factory.
